I'm not sure why I decided to start a blog but I figure it may be a good way to reach out to others and help them see my perspective.  I used to do LiveJournal/ Xanga/etc. and honestly have had bad results whenever I just allow myself to vent online and so I am going to make a conscious effort to make sure that this blog does not turn into that.

Things that have happened in the past five years since graduating college from Miami of Ohio
1) Went to Japan
2) Moved to Arizona for a week
3) Got a job at Fort Riley KS working as a civilian where I had three jobs (received promotions) - when I got to the point where I could not move up at Fort Riley I applied for other jobs outside of Fort Riley with the government
*I loved the kids so it was hard to say goodbye
4) Took a job at West Point as the director of a Teen Center
5) Bought a Condo
6) Received my masters in Youth Development in December 2011
* Career wise life was good
7) In February of this year was told that I was losing my job
8) Started unemployment in March
* Very difficult time in life, I decided to move back to Battle Creek to have support of family and volunteer at St Joseph to get perspective
9) Started a job at Miami of Ohio as the Assistant Director of Outdoor Pursuits in April
10) Had to put my condo up for a short sale - possible could be a foreclosure

Since getting to Miami I have been so happy with what I am doing and trying to seek the bigger picture in life.  Right now my financial situation is very difficult and I'm trying to let my faith and God show me the way and focus on things that are not earthly such as money but I find it still to be difficult.  I'm so happy to be closer to my family and in a job that allows me to be outside and really try to bring out the best in others.  Being laid off was a blessing in disguise but still seems like something I defend when talking to people because it's embarrassing but I know it shouldn't be.  For now, I just have to focus on the bigger picture and look to the future and hope that my financial situation with my condo settles itself before foreclosure.
